On Thursday, Amber Heard said that she would be donating $7 million to charity from the money she was awarded in her divorce settlement with Johnny Depp.

The 30-year-old actress said in a statement that she will be splitting the donation equally between the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union (specifically to prevent violence against women).

"As described in the restraining order and divorce settlement, money played no role for me personally and never has, except to the extent that I could donate it to charity and, in doing so, hopefully help those less able to defend themselves," Heard stated.

Representatives for Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny Depp have not responded to requests for comment as of yet.

Heard and Depp settled their acrimonious divorce case on Tuesday in a private session on the day before they were scheduled for a court hearing regarding the restraining order Heard filed against Depp. The couple released a joint statement explaining that their relationship was "intensely passionate and at times volatile but always bound by love." The statement also mentioned, "there was never any intent or physical or emotional harm."

The now divorced couple was married for 15 months, after they met on the set of 2011 film The Rum Diary. The fallout between the two has been one of epic proportions including: Heard making claims of domestic violence, Depp going off on drunken rants and even cutting off his own finger.

Depp can be seen next in theaters in his lead role in the next Pirates of the Caribbean installment. Heard's next role will be in Warner Bros' upcoming Justice League superhero movie.
