For Pokemon fans, the Pokemon Fusion Generator is a thing of beauty. The site has been around for years now, and recently, fans all over the world have rediscovered the webpage following the massive success that is Pokemon GO. The site, which was created by Alex Onsager, is simple enough: You pick two pokemon from the original series, fuse them together, and bam! You’ve got a new Pokedex entry. With creations like Scychamp and Gyaraeon mashed up through the site, the pokemon possibilities seem endless. So, of course, some talented artists had to go and take these fusions to a whole new level.

Imgur user Jubbafudgey has created an album which contains dozens of insane artwork depicting several pokemon combos. From Zuish to Maroizard, you can find cartoon and CGI work coloring out the different hybrid looks – and guys. All of the artwork looks amazing.

While Alex Onsager’s website simply overlays elements of pokemon sprites atop of each other, these full-on pieces of artwork illustrate the fused creatures in all their realistic glory. Take, for instance, Dragontales. The fused pokemon comes courtesy from the surprisingly blessed union of a Dragonair and Ninetails. And the results leaves fans with a breathtaking blue creature whose wide-eyed face and majestic tails leave us wondering why it’s not actually a legit pocket monster? Seriously, this artist’s rendition of the hybrid creature looks like it belongs in a fantasy adaptation of the hugely popular franchise.

And, to think, all of this started by one fan’s interest in creating a website. Onsager said that he was inspired to create the page to see if he could create an automated process for combining pokemon. “Some of the results are less impressive than others,” he wrote. “[B]ut I think that it adds to the fun and makes it that much more satisfying when you come across ones that work really well.”
