When asked about his favorite celebrities, one of Republican Senator John McCain's answers might totally surprise you. The 79-year-old revealed that "Toxic" singer Britney Spears was his favorite female celeb!

After the cameraman first posed the question, McCain predictably answered that Clint Eastwood was his favorite. "I like Clint East a lot," McCain said. "Yeah, I think he's a great guy."

But then when asked what young popular female he liked, McCain surprisingly stated that it was superstar Britney Spears.

While McCain is notoriously a tough political player, he let his guard down for a bit on Thursday to admit he had a soft spot for the American princess of pop Britney Spears.

"Britney Spears is certainly very attractive," McCain said.

The TMZ reporter then asked McCain whether he would go see Spears perform at her Vegas concert called "Britney: Piece of Me," which is a residency show at the AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

"Absolutely, I'd be glad to see it," McCain replied. "Everything I've heard is that it's a good show."

McCain turns 80 on Monday, and is currently sitting with a 26-point lead over Kelli Ward in the Republican primary election.

Other interesting news about Britney Spears lately includes her joining James Corden on The Late Late Show for an episode of "Carpool Karaoke," and her ninth studio album "Glory" being released on August 26.
