While enjoying a day at the Crystal Cove State Beach, 4-year-old Liam Brenes from Rancho Santa Margarita was the victim of an extremely cruel crime. A thief took all his family's possessions, and even decided to take the boy's prosthetic leg on Sunday morning.

"We were in the water for two hours," Liam told ABC. "And came back and everything was gone. They stole my leg."

Liam was born with a very rare disorder that left him missing the fibula bone on his left leg, called a FACTO syndrome, according to Little Things. It is extremely difficult for Liam to walk without the prosthetic leg, but the thief clearly did not care about the cruelty of such an act of stealing it.

"It's just heartless. It's a child's leg, you know? He needs it to be able to get around and function normally," Liam's mother Amanda McFarland said.

The boy's story made headline news, and reports that his insurance may not cover the cost of replacing the leg prompted one man to step in. In order to set things right by taking things in his own hands, Shark Tank star Robert Herjavec offered to pay for a new prosthetic leg for Liam.

Since the news of Liam's leg being stolen, his family had already met their goal of $10,000 on their GoFundMe page, but Herjavec offered his services anyway.

"I just felt this overwhelming need to help and try to bring some light into his life," Herjavec stated. He also mentioned to ABC, "I mean, to think about what the little boy has gone through. And with everything that's happening in the world and so much negativity, I just thought if I had the opportunity to make him grow up in an environment where he thinks there are some good people in the world, why not?"

In the wake of such a despicable act, it is refreshing to see such generosity from Shark Tank's Robert Herjavec.
