DeAngelo Williams' Impact Wrestling Future Revealed

The most newsworthy event to come out of Saturday's GFW/Impact Wrestling's Slammiversary XV was the wrestling debut of NFL running back, DeAngelo Williams. The 34-year old NFL great made his in-ring debut with a ridiculously impressive performance that had the entire sports world buzzing.

Unfortunately for wrestling fans, it looks like the victory will be the only of DeAngelo's career. Williams' partner, Moose, told TMZ yesterday (in the video above) that the free agent running back had no plans of getting back in the ring after checking it off his bucket list.

Rumors have it that the former Steelers and Panthers back was waiting to sign with another NFL team until after making his pay per view debut. Despite the fact that Moose (aka Quinn Ojinnaka, is a former NFL offensive lineman) says Williams is done, we all know wrestling is a 'never say never' business.

It's highly likely Williams knows that no NFL team will come near him if they think he has any more pro wrestling aspirations. Considering most running backs are washed up at 30, it's possible Williams could change his mind if no teams come knocking on his door.

Williams previously appeared at an Impact Wrestling television taping in April. Along with Cleveland Browns tight end Gary Barnidge, he rescued Moose from a Davey Richards attack.

While Moose did much of the heavy lifting for the team during their Slammiversary tag match, it was DeAngelo who picked up the win when he frog splashed Adonis from the top rope through a table.

Active professional football players have made guest appearances on professional wrestling tapings in the past. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has appeared at several WWE events, even helping WWE's Mojo Rawley win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33.

Even if he never wrestles another match, Williams' in-ring debut has to be considered one of the greatest NFL to WWE cameos of all time.
