FOX's The Exorcist was a surprise highlight of the fall 2016 season, and it's coming back this fall for a second season filled with new twists and turns. At San-Diego Comic-Con, the three leads dished on what fans can expect from the second run.

"There will be a main possession, and we get drawn into that possession in a supernatural way, it's safe to say," Ben Daniels (Father Marcus Keane) exclusively told PopCulture.com.

Alfonso Herrera, who portrays Father Tomas Ortega, also revealed the dynamic between his character and Father Marcus will lead to some conflict.

"This relationship between Tomas and Marcus starts to appear a little peculiar and starts to get a little strange," he said. "Specifically because of their different approaches. He has a completely different approach, and Tomas starts to take some unnecessary risks, in a certain way."

The trio also revealed there's still so much about season two that they aren't even aware of yet. They've just started to receive scripts, and the creators aren't letting them know what lies ahead.

"We just moved to Vancouver, and we received the news that there was going to be a second season, and everything started to move so fast, and we started to receive these new scripts," Herrera said. "We are going to be as surprised as the fans."

"To be honest with you, we're still fleshing stuff out," said Kurt Egyiawan (Father Bennett). "The [writers] know, but they're keeping us in the dark."

"We don't know where it's going," Daniels added. "We just know the bare bones."

FOX's The Exorcist will return on Sept. 29 at 8 p.m CT. You can watch the full interview with the cast above.
