Gina Rodriguez Lends Fan Jessica Casanova Golden Globes Dress for Prom

Gina Rodriguez made one fan's prom dreams come true!

Back in January, 17-year-old Jessica Casanova tweeted to the actress telling her it she would love to wear Rodriguez's dress from the 2016 Golden Globe Awards to her upcoming prom.

Rodriguez responded, and while she wouldn't be able to share her dress from this year, she did own her gown from last year, and offered to send Casanova the dress for her prom!

Fast forward a few months, and it was prom time! Casanova, from Buffalo, New York, received Rodriguez's strapless black Badgley Mishka dress as promised, and was ecstatic to wear the gorgeous number to her big dance.

"l have no words, no other celebrity can compare to what she has done," Casanova told ET of Rodriguez. "She deserves everything in this entire world."

"It feels really good," Casanova added of the dress. "It fits like a glove!"

The teen attended her prom on Saturday, and even got a special video message from Rodriguez before the big night!

"Just know I love you. I'm so proud of you. I'm so excited for you," Rodriguez told Casanova in the message. "You look beautiful and everybody will remember it — especially you!"

"I feel very proud, you know," Michelle Martinez, Casanova's mother, told The Buffalo News. "She deserves it."

After prom, Casanova will be returning the dress to Rodriguez, who will then share it with another girl to keep this amazing new tradition going.

"I hope whoever gets it next, it goes in the right hands, because it's something close to her heart and it means a lot to her," Casanova said. "I just hope it gets taken care of really well like the way I am."
