Moms have an innate sense of knowing just when we need an extra hug, words of encouragement and a bit of motherly advice. Whether it's a broken heart or a tough day at the office, mom always knows what to say.

This Mother's Day, we spoke with some of our favorite country stars about the best advice their mothers have given them over the years. Let us know the best advice you have received from mom in the comments below!

Trisha Yearwood
"Always be yourself. Don't try to please everybody, because you can't. But at the end of the day, be able to look in the mirror and know you stayed true to you. It's been a valuable lesson for me."

Cole Swindell
"I'll always cherish the last mother's day I spent with my momma and her mother. We all went to my grandma's house and had family supper. It's one I'll never forget! The best advice my momma ever gave me was to stay humble and never forget where you came from!"

Miranda Lambert
"Know who you are and stick with it!"

Thomas Rhett
"Mom just instilled a lot of good morals into me, and I have a lot of my mom in me as far as morals go and, you know, just the way that we view life and the way that we love people."

Charles Kelley
"She always told me to not put so much pressure on myself. I used to stress myself out with school so much and she always encouraged me to just enjoy the ride. I think that's what helped me be creative and delve into music as a kid instead of focusing on being too structured. I still think about that advice today!"

Eric Paslay
"My mom always tells me to 'keep doing what you're doing.' Throughout my life, she's always encouraged me when it comes to making music and staying on the right path."

Jamie Lynn Spears
"Trust yourself and your instincts when it comes to your children. Don't compare yourself to others because there is no such thing as the 'perfect mother.' Also, 'mom guilt' is a real thing and hardly ever goes away! (Ha!) Just do everything with love because that's all our children really need."

Brett Eldredge
"My favorite thing about my mom is she is so selfless and so humble. She's always making me a better person. She always helps me kind of learn how to treat others and how to love someone. And how to not make it about yourself, or anything other than helping someone else get through their day."

Kelsea Ballerini
"My mom tells me everyday 'Remember who you are.' She has said it to me every day since middle school and it constantly reminds me to check myself and why I'm doing what I do."

Courtney Cole
"My mom is the epitome of positivity and strength. She had been through some challenging circumstances, but I've come to learn that nothing can shake her. She has taught me to look at life with a glass half full mentality, and that has become an important influence in my music."

Scotty McCreery
"My mother has given me a lot of great advice throughout my life. Probably the best advice she gave me was to always think about how you are making someone else feel. Be aware of how your comments and actions can affect the people around you. Always be kind, always be thoughtful, and always try to make everyone feel included and comfortable. I think that's great advice for all of us. Thanks Mom for sharing that with me at an early age."

Dustin Lynch
"Finish all your veggies before dessert…and dessert?…ALWAYS!"

Natalie Stovall
"Mamma has always focused a lot on leading by example. It doesn't matter what you say if you don't back it up with what you DO. And she has lead me my whole life with THE BEST example of patience, quiet strength, kindness, forgiveness, love, and giving. I love my Mamma and will forever strive to be like her!"

Haley and Michaels
"The best advice we've gotten from both of our moms is to never give up and to focus on the journey, not the outcome. They have been our biggest believers our whole lives. We've also learned to always cook with wine, to never have emotional conversations after 10pm - and whatever you do don't go for too long without indulging in something sweet or it will come back to bite you."

Charles 'Chip' Esten
"Can't go over it. Can't go under it. Can't go around it. Gotta go through it!"

Jerrod Niemann
"My Mom's advice was always more actions than words. Since I can remember, ANY holiday she found out someone would be spending it alone, she would open our doors & invite them to share the holiday with our family. I've watched her graciousness light up many lives over many years...especially mine."
