Watch: 'The Voice' Coaches Come Together to Fight Crime in New Promo
08/31/2017 05:37 pm EDT
The Voice is back and its coaches are ready to find some talent.
The NBC singing competition dropped a retro promo for its upcoming 13th season on Tuesday. The new trailer paid homage to famous 1970s cop shows such as Starsky & Hutch, The Mod Squad and T.J. Hooker.
The Voice coaches suited up in their best '70s gear and drove through the town in a muscle car. They each had their own title card and action show character trope. Adam Levine played the loose cannon cop who plays by his own rules, while Blake Shelton plays the master of disguise and Cyrus is a fashionable bodyguard.
The promo introduced The Voice's newest coach Jennifer Hudson playing a Pam Grier-inspired brawler who uses nunchucks. Even host Carson Daly makes an appearance in the promo as a bumbling mechanic named Lug Nut.
If this is any indication as to how the upcoming season will be, Voice fans will be in for plenty of laughs.
The Voice returns on Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
