The WWE women's revolution could be in line for a monumental event on the road to WrestleMania 34. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there has been some talk about doing a women's WWE Royal Rumble match at the Rumble pay-per-view next year in Philadelphia.

Charlotte first teased the idea of an all women's Rumble to us when we spoke with her in January. When we asked the former Women's Champion if she had any interest in becoming the next woman to get involved with the men, she put the focus on the women getting their own time to shine.

"I think our focus should be building a stronger division, showing that we are just as big of a draw as the men, but once I'm not in the title picture anymore, I think it would be great to enter the Rumble, because at the end of the day, I can out wrestle some of them, but it would have to make storyline sense. I hope in the future, if we have a big enough division to do it or if they ever bring RAW and Smackdown back together, I'd love for us to have an all-female Royal Rumble. I think that would be awesome."

Becky Lynch recently spoke with The Amarillo Globe-News about the possibility and was very hopeful the women would get their own spotlight.

"I think there'll definitely be a time where the women get their own Royal Rumble. When you look at the fact that in July there is the Mae Young Classic taking place between 32 women. Then you have the women in NXT and the women on both brands. I think it's a year or two away from having our own Royal Rumble, then maybe our tag titles. The sky is the limit."

The women have broken major ground in the past year, headlining RAW and SmackDown main events, competing in Ironman, Hell In A Cell and Money In The Bank matches. Main eventing a WrestleMania and getting their own Royal Rumble are the most logical goals left on the checklist.

With the upcoming Mae Young Classic, the WWE's roster depth should fill out enough depth to be able to fill at least a 20 person Rumble. Throw in the number of possible former female superstars that could make a one night return, and next year could be the perfect time to begin the annual tradition of having a women's Royal Rumble match.
