Potential Spoiler for Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman at Great Balls of Fire

According to Billi Bhatti of SportsKeeda.com, Roman Reigns will lose this Sunday's Ambulance Match against Braun Strowman.

Bhatti's report runs counter to The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, who has been quoted in saying that his sources have Reigns winning at Great Balls of Fire en route to a Universal Championship match at SummerSlam against Brock Lesnar.

SportsKeeda's source at WWE claims that this has never been the plan:

"Nobody would even pitch changing that. We've known about that since last March. It's the one thing the old man (Vince McMahon) has set in stone and not one person would even waste any time pitching, just to be shot down in a creative meeting. It is what it is."

There's a lot to digest here. SportsKeeda and their source have been hot as of late, effectively spoiling the results to several big matches in the past few months. However, Dave Meltzer is considered to be one of the premier insiders of professional wrestling. So who are we supposed to believe?

Well, all we can really do is speculate. Roman Reigns losing another PPV match to Braun Strowman seems unlikely. But, it's worth noting that Strowman himself has become one of WWE's hottest acts so him losing so close to SummerSlam also would be questionable.

The second point to underline SportsKeeda's source vehemently claiming that WWE has been committed to Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34. Since WrestleMania 33 closed its curtains, the common belief has been that WWE would preserve the Beast Incarnate and the Big Dog for a year.

As per Melzer's assertion, WWE was thought to be possibly moving their feud up to SummerSlam instead of WrestleMania. This was rooted in the idea that WWE was flustered by the consistently poor ratings that RAW was encountering and decided to unload Lesnar/Reigns. WWE appeared to be marching in this direction just a few weeks ago, when Reigns announced that he was the next number one contender for the Universal Championship.

But if SportsKeeda's report proves to be true, all of that would be unraveled.

It may be best to pull back from the mental calisthenics and just be a fan. There's a lot of conflicting information circulating, so instead of trying to figure out which is most viable, just watch Great Balls of Fire. Then, we can speculate with concrete fact, and that is always fun.
