Carmella Comments On Being Two Time Money In The Bank Winner

Believe it or not, Carmella is a two time Money In The Bank winner. While it's highly likely WWE had the SmackDown do-over just to appease fans who were furious over James Ellsworth being the one to actually grab the case, the result of Tuesday's SmackDown Live was the same as the pay per view.

Carmella took to Twitter to comment on her victory saying, "There's only been TWO women's MITB ladder matches in the history of WWE. I won BOTH! Not too shabby for the last draft pick, huh?"

While many people expected Carmella to win the match (due to early leaks), it's still pretty remarkable that the Princess of Staten Island has come so far in such short time.

It's still unsure if WWE will historically recognize that Carmella has won two matches or if they will cancel the results of the pay per view match. Carmella's solo run had largely been viewed as a bust by most in the WWE Universe until she was partnered with James Ellsworth. While in NXT, Carmella was a crucial part of Enzo and Cass' allure with Enzo constantly reminding the crowd that she was 'hot as hell' and 'you can't teach that.' When she debuted on SmackDown Live as a solo performer, her act fell flat on the blue brand crowd. She couldn't seem to get over as a heel or face and many thought she was too green to hold her own against the brand's top stars.

After forming the unlikely pairing with James Ellsworth, she caught fire. With their over the top personas, the two have generated legitimate heat in an era where the bad guys often get cheered by smart fans for doing their job so well.

It's still a bit hard to believe WWE didn't give the first MITB rub to Charlotte or Becky Lynch, two of the women who the Women's Revolution has been built around in the past two years. Charlotte has largely been a non-factor since joining SmackDown and perhaps the reason has something to do with her photos being leaked online. Although, it could be argued that WWE realizes that to build a successful division long term, other stars were going to have to be viewed as main eventers.

Carmella also posted a great image on Twitter of her taking the Subway home with the MITB briefcase.
