Significant Matches to Be Left off of SummerSlam Card

The Miz vs. Jason Jordan
Strangely, it looks like the Intercontinental Championship will not be defended at SummerSlam. It's not so much that it's undeserving of a big match - it's that the feud between the Miz and Jason Jordan is a little premature.
Having just begun last week, it leaves WWE only a few episodes of RAW to get their storyline to a fever pitch. Rushing Jason Jordan into anything won't sit well with WWE as they have meticulously crafted his involvement in the Kurt Angle narrative.
To throw a rivalry together just for the sake of having a match at SummerSlam sounds counterintuitive. So kudos to WWE for adhering to moderation and letting this one simmer for the bit. Chances are Miz and Jordan can put together a memorable program, so it may be worth the wait.
Big Cass vs. Big Show
These two may have closed RAW last week, but don't count on seeing them at SummerSlam. This was clearly never meant to be a long term feud so them carrying their disdain for one another to and through SummerSlam seemed like a stretch.
However, it's hard to imagine Big Cass not getting involved somehow at the Barclays show. He's been an integral part in WWE's return to storytelling this summer and deserves to do something (even if it is locking Enzo in a dumpster).
Breezango vs. Unknown Attackers
If not having the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam is the surprise, then this one is the disappointment. Obviously, a lower-tier tag team on WWE second tiered show isn't going to be a high priority. However, Tyler Breeze and Fandango have been remarkably good as of late.
The Fashion files have been the best recurring segment in recent WWE memory. On top of that, it's one of the few times in history that wrestlers have proven to be consistently funny. They've been creative, well timed, and simply fun to watch and certainly deserve some type of elevated status.
How far these segments go kind of depends on who their secret attackers actually are. If it is indeed what the popular theory indicates (Harper and Rowan), then that's worth putting TV. Perhaps they can stick it on the pre-show.
Sami Zayn vs. Mike Kanellis
This doesn't come as much of a surprise. Although Zayn and Kanellis have over achieved, their story isn't ripe enough for a SummerSlam spot. Sure Sami Zayn fans may be salty over his utter lack of relevance, but don't be sad - rumors have the rest of Zayn's 2017 being quite impactful.
For Kanellis, there just isn't much to be said. Smackdown has a revolving door of forgettable undercard heels. Seeing that he's most certainly one of them, WWE won't receive too much blow back for not including him at the Brooklyn show.
