Randy Orton Answers Rusev's SummerSlam Challenge On SmackDown Live

The SummerSlam card started to become more clear on Tuesday night as one big match came together halfway through SmackDown Live.

Rusev had a match with Chad Gable just past the top of the second hour of the show; it turned out to be a very good bout that nobody will talk about due to Nakamura/Cena and Styles/Owens sharing the card.

After the match, Rusev got on the microphone and talked about how he doesn't have anyone to face at SummerSlam. He alluded to defeating everyone that has been placed in front of him. Randy Orton's theme song came on and Orton made his entrance to interrupt Rusev leaving the ring.

Orton mentioned that Rusev has never defeated him and that he was open to facing him at SummerSlam. Following a furious Rusev getting on the microphone and yelling at him in Bulgarian, Orton ended the segment by giving Rusev an RKO.

While a veteran like Orton should get a good match out of Orton, I wouldn't mind seeing a second bout between Rusev and Gable. These two had a very good match, and the inevitable America vs. Bulgaria storyline could have been done with Gable (a world class U.S. Olympian) to elevate him during his initial singles run following the split with Jason Jordan.
