Lana Finds Proof That Naomi Never Beat Her on SmackDown

Last night, SmackDown Women's Champion, Naomi, beat Lana for the second time in 8 days. After shrugging off Lana's finisher, It only took 2 offensive maneuvers for Naomi to thwart her ravishing opponent. As the referee counted three it felt like would never see Lana wrestle again.

However, there is no rest for the wicked. Lana has tossed out her challenge flag. Using the power of Twitter, Lana claims that she was in fact not beaten.

As the image shows, only one of Lana's shoulders has been pinned. Instead of keeping her opponent flat, Naomi has more or less cradled Lana's corpse. Technically speaking, this should not count.

Frankly speaking, no one cares.

However, if WWE feels so inclined to oblige Lana's complaint, they now have visual evidence that she was falsely pinned. This feels more like a demon's last gasp for relevance than something that WWE actually wrote. SmackDown's women's division has picked up some momentum as of late and giving Lana another title shot on a technicality would feel like backward booking.

With Carmella, WWE has a red hot heel and most of creative's energy should devote to implementing her run as Ms. Money in Bank. The leftover energy will surely be spread between Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Naomi. So for Lana, it seems like her complaint will slip between the cracks.

Kudos to Lana's due diligence, though. In related her on-screen lover and real life husband, Rusev should be returning to WWE at any moment. Maybe there's something there for her. But her days of challenged for SmackDown's title are sure to be done.
