Jinder Mahal Was Part of Triple H's "Prophecy"

WWE fans never saw Jinder Mahal as WWE Champion. Today, as Mahal enters his 6th week with the title, some of us are still rubbing our eyes. As unlikely as Mahal's ascent has been, there was one constant voice of confidence:

Triple H.

In a recent Instagram post, Mahal touted Triple H's prophetic vision by his supporting of Mahal and Seth Rollins years ago:

"I believe it was the prophecy made by Triple H in NXT at that time (Gold Rush tournament). Two young guys who he thought were the future of the business and it turned out to be true. Rollins is a multiple-time champion, I am the current World champion. We were having main event matches in NXT and now we are in the main events in WWE. So I believe it was the prophecy of Triple H. He is one of the smartest minds in the wrestling business and wrestlers that are in NXT right now, main eventing NXT shows are the guys who you are going see main-eventing WWE PPVs in Raw and SmackDown Live in the future."

Mahal's logic is infallible, here. NXT has revolutionized WWE and will continue to impact its future for years to come. As it was Triple H's brainchild, he cannot get enough credit. With NXT, WWE has turned what was once a place of development into a place of profit.

We forget that Jinder Mahal has been around for a bit. 2012 is about as far back as NXT can go, and until the post, we probably wouldn't associate Jinder Mahal with Seth Rollins. At this point, Triple H has earned heaps of clout as a behind the scenes talent evaluator. Sooner than later, the majority of WWE's roster will be made of NXT graduates.

For Mahal, he seems to be improving by the week. His time as Champion may be coming to a close as it seems unlikely that he can beat Randy Orton for 3 consecutive PPVs. However, we've been wrong to doubt him before. Maybe he can shock us again.
