Former WWE Diva Denied Backstage Access At SmackDown Live

One day after several former WWE divas appeared backstage at Raw, a former Women's Champion got shut down by the WWE at SmackDown Live. Former WWE Women's Champion, Lisa Marie Varon, commented on her Facebook page about being denied backstage access by the WWE after the women's Money In The Bank Match.

"The WWE Women's Ladder match was incredible. Wanted to congratulate the gals, but the office said that I couldn't go back stage. Maybe next time."

Ouch!

You would think a former champion could get to step backstage for a few minutes to say hey. It's the least the WWE could do for the performer they once had portray the role of "Head Ho" for the Godfather's stable of ladies of the night.

Victoria was with the WWE from 2001-09. She would become one of Trish Stratus' main opponents during the era and her Widow's Peak finisher remains one of the best the women's division has ever featured. Victoria would also star as a heel in the "Vince's Devils" faction.

After retiring from the WWE in 09, Victoria would join TNA and win the Knockouts Championship on several occasions before leaving the company in 2013.

Varon teased a return to WWE in 2015 but nothing ever came of it. The former Diva was, unfortunately, one of many whose personal photos were leaked during a recent hack and it's also possible WWE was wanting to maintain a little distance.

WWE doesn't have the best track record with treating their former female talents with the same revelry that they do the male counterparts, however, the resigning of Mickie James seems to suggest a new attitude. With the Mae Young Classic coming up, former Attitude Era star, Lita, has been added to the commentary team with Jim Ross. This will be the first chance a former female star has gotten the opportunity to announce such a high profiled gig.

It appears as if Varon took the WWE's diss in stride, but it's still not a great look.
