Alberto Del Patron Trashes WWE in Victory Speech

Last night, IMPACT Wrestling rolled out their flagship pay-per-view, Slammiversary. Its main event featured 2 former WWE superstars; Alberto Del Rio and Bobby Lashley.

Del Rio, now Alberto El Patron, got the decisive pinfall, and his victory unified the GFW Global Championship and Impact Wold Heavyweight Title. As newly crowned king of his relative world, El Patron got to make a speech.

He made it count.

When the match ended, Patron, the sportsman, shook Lashley's hand. He complimented both himself and his opponent and went on to say that he had worked everywhere, "even that f**king company, WWE!" He would add that WWE was "Full of losers."

From there, Patron would continue to glow about Lashley and IMPACT:

"You gave me the battle of my life. And for that, and for these fans - the real fans - let's do it again. Not for you, not for me, for the [inaudible] of pro wrestling, because we're not f**king sports entertainers! Bobby Lashley and every single wrestler at Impact Wrestling... in this place, we are not sports entertainers, we are f**king wrestlers!"

For IMPACT Wrestling, last night's show proved to be a prideful one. The company has rebranded itself which has already supplied a growing sense of continuity. For the first time in a while, it feels like there may actually be a reputable wrestling company other than WWE.

For Patron, his slight against WWE doesn't come without precedent. The new champion has a contentious history with the wrestling conglomerate that has often made negative headlines.

Last week, Patron claimed he left WWE because of their ruthless schedule - it's clear that was just an attempt to be diplomatic. In the heat of last night's moment, Patron was clearly being honest about how he truly feels about his old employer.

Don't expect a retort from WWE itself, however, Twitter is a great place for passive-aggressive feuds, so don't rule out a social media showdown. Stay tuned, folks.
