Is 'Westworld' Hinting At A Key Samurai Character Coming In Season 2?

Fans of Westworld know that the second season could be introducing an entire Samurai-themed park, but the new installment could be taking things even further than that.

Funko released a new set of Westworld POP figures to sell exclusively at San Diego Comic Con, and one of them seems to hint at a potential character from Samurai World.

Game of Thrones Season 7 Battles Will Make Past Scenes Look Like "Child's Play"

The figure depicts a samurai, much like the one that was seen in the Season 1 finale of the show, leading people to think that this is just a nod to the upcoming storyline. However, the box that the POP comes in is what gives away the identity of this character.

Not only is the Westworld title on the box different from the title on the other figures, but the name of the character tells a much bigger story than that. Instead of a generic samurai title, the figure is called 'Musashi'.

For those who are fluent in the history of Japanese warriors, Musashi is probably a recognizable name. Miyamoto Musashi was an expert swordsman and ronin, who was born in the late 1500s. The warrior carried an undefeated record in 60 duels throughout his life.

It would be odd for the Funko POP to be given such a prestigious name if the character wasn't going to be important. So, it seems like the Samurai storyline in Season 2 will be more detailed than many thought, and there could be some key moments in Japanese history played out in the park.

Who knew that the first potential details from Westworld's next season would come from a toy box?
