Through a series of tweets, Phillippe explained, "I didn't injure myself doing a stunt or anywhere near the set of Shooter. I was the victim of a freak accident during a family outing on Sunday."

He added, "My leg is badly broken & required surgical attention, but I will make a full recovery, am in good hands, and will be back in action soon."

As reported by Deadline, production has not "officially" been halted as of yet, as there were shoots taking place that he was not scheduled to be a part of.

Additionally, a representative for Paramount Television said, "We are working with our partners at USA and UCP to adjust the production schedule, but first and foremost we are happy to hear that Ryan is doing well and recovering."

It's also reported that the producers are unsure if the show will have to go on hiatus, but they are said to be exploring multiple options such as shooting around his injury and tweaking current scripts with workarounds.

Shooter is described as "a conspiracy thriller that follows the journey of Bob Lee Swagger, a highly-decorated veteran who is coaxed back into action to prevent a plot to kill the President."

The season 2 premiere recently debuted, and producers are confident that even with Phillippe's injury they'll still meet all their episode deadlines.
