'Suicide Squad' Star Joins 'Scandal' for Final Season

Scandal just has one more season on ABC and the series is bringing in some real firepower for its final installment.

No, that wasn't a figure of speech, we're talking about real fire here.

According to EW, Jay Hernandez has been cast in the upcoming seventh season of Shonda Rhimes' political drama. While Hernandez has been involved in plenty of notable projects, many will recognize him as the fire-wielding criminal-turned-hero Diablo, one of the main characters of Suicide Squad.

The report states that Hernandez has joined the ABC series in an undisclosed role, and there is no word as to how many episodes the actor will be featured in.

Hernandez isn't the only superhero movie veteran joining Scandal this season. It was revealed that Shaun Toub (Iron Man) would also be getting a role. Just like Hernandez, Toub's role is undisclosed.

The seventh and final season of Scandal will premiere October 5 on ABC.
