Jim Parsons Shares Icy Photo From 'Big Bang Theory' Set

Jim Parsons felt a bit overwhelmed in the wake of the Charlottesville white supremacist protests and wanted to stay focused on his first night shooting season 11 of The Big Bang Theory.

To help express his feelings, the 44-year-old actor took to Instagram to share an ice-cold look at the show's backstage area with a message that garnered positivity from fans.

The image shows a large ice sculpture the Big Bang logo and "season 11" etched into it. The familiar surroundings and work are just what the actor behind Sheldon needed to take his mind off of the world.

"So many things in the world are absolutely baffling to me right now," he captioned the photo. "This ice sculpture, however, truly represents some welcome consistency. Happy season 11, Big Bang Theory."

Parsons then went on to update fans one the current production status of of the new season.

"It all feels normal and unbelievable at the same time," he wrote. "Tape night number 1; 23 to go!"

Parson's on-screen love interest, Mayim Bialik (Amy), also shared a photo of the sculpture with a similar sentiment.

"Although the news is very disturbing and it is on my mind all of time, we filmed the 1st episode of The Big Bang Theory last night, and I did want to share with you some behind the scenes pictures and tidbits," she captioned the photo. "I hope it gives you a break from the news and makes you smile."
