The preview for the penultimate episode in the seventh season of Game of Thrones promises an epic confrontation with the forces of the Night King. Winter is here, ladies and gentlemen.

After the events of "Eastwatch," Jon Snow takes a band of fighters north of the wall in an attempt to capture a wight and present it to both Daenerys Targaryen and Cersei Lannister.

Jon is accompanied by Tormund, Jorah Mormont, Gendry, the Hound, Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr and a squad of wildlings. The clip shows them venturing into the snow past Eastwatch, cut with footage of Daenerys and Tyrion Lannister looking worried from the safety of Dragonstone.

It also promises a confrontation between Arya and Sansa Stark, which comes after Arya discovered the message Sansa sent in the first season begging Robb Stark to denounce their father as a traitor.

"You're scared, aren't you? What are you scared of?" a voiceover from Arya says.

We then hear Beric Dondarrion's voice.

"Death is the enemy. The first enemy and the last. The enemy always wins, and we still need to fight him," he says.

The footage continues to show the seven fighting a group of wights and White Walkers. Gendry makes use of his hammer, and Beric's flaming sword makes another appearance. It doesn't seem like the fight goes so well, as it cuts to Jon and the others running away while being flanked by the dead army.

The final shot shows the Night King and one of his lieutenants looking creepy as ever.

The second-to-last episode of every Game of Thrones season is always loaded with action, with the finale serving as a low-key wrap-up and set up for the next year's events. But with only eight episodes left in the entire series, we don't think the show will be letting up off the throttle.
