'Game Of Thrones': Emilia Clarke's Story Of Meeting Jason Momoa Is Funny And Terrifying

Despite only being featured in the first season of Game of Thrones, Jason Momoa's character Khal Drogo remains a fan favorite years later. Drogo took Emilia Clarke's character Daenerys Targaryen as a companion before his death, beginning the Mother of Dragons ascent to become the ruler we see today.

Clarke recently shared a humorous but slightly terrifying story of the time when she first met her co-star before filming began for the first season.

"The first time I met Jason Momoa was in a hotel lobby in Belfast," Clarke said while speaking with Rolling Stone. "I walk in and I'm exhausted and I have my bags and I'm really tired and it was really late at night. And I walk in, and from the other side of this enormous lobby, I hear 'WIFEY!'"

Now, that's one way to make a first impression. But Momoa is known to get excited and to be very joyful, so he didn't stop there.

"And this huge Hawaiian man comes bounding over to me, picks me up, and genuinely gets me in like a rugby tackle to the floor," Clarke said with a laugh. "It was only when he picked me back up and kind of dusted me off, and I was like, 'Who are you?'"

Knowing who he is now is one thing, but in the moment that has to be slightly scary. A man as big as Momoa running over and taking you to the ground would be horrifying, and there's probably little you could do to stop it.

Luckily the actor is a pretty happy guy and the memory makes for another funny story to tell about him years later.

Game of Thrones premieres July 16 on HBO. Unfortunately, Momoa will not be on it.
