Chicago P.D. fans were stunned earlier this summer when Sophia Bush announced her exit from the series, and now returning star Jon Seda has commented on Bush leaving the show.

In an interview with TV Line, Seda was asked, "There's a lot of change in the unit: Lindsay is leaving, and some new faces have joined since Antonio left. How are the dynamics different in the new season within the unit?"

"There's been some changes all around, from the actors to producers and things like that," Seda replied.

"Sophia Bush is a great talent… when I worked with her, I just had such a great time. She's going to be missed. I don't think it's so much that you even try to fill those shoes," he said.

"You just kind of take it for what it is. That was a great character she created, and you just focus now on the team that's there and move forward," he added.

It was last month when Seda was revealed to be rejoining the series, and the actor opened up about it on social media.

Taking to Twitter, Seda wrote, "Though saddened with @chicagojustice I'm humbled by all the love from the #OneChicago fans, thank you! Also, many thanks to DickWolf & @NBC."

Seda's Chicago Justice mention is a reference to the series being canceled after one season.

The actor initially left P.D. to join Justice, and now makes his triumphant return.

Just two months prior to that, Bush chose to exit the series, leaving fans devastated.

Ultimately, it was reported that she chose to leave on her own terms and not because she was forced out by a change in creative direction.

Seda coming back into the fold has made fans from all over giddy with excitement.

One follower wrote, "I'm happy to hear you are feeling all the love and outpouring of support for your return to Chicago PD. WE LOVE YOU!"

Another said, "So happy you are coming back to #ChicagoPD #ChicagoJustice was a great show should of gotten another season so happy you will be back on PD!"

While most fans are expressing sadness that Justice didn't get another season, they all seem to be very happy that Seda is staying with the franchise.
