Netflix Fans Are Going to War Over 'Midnight Mass' Being Snubbed by Emmys

'Winner to Me'
Some fans took the straightforward approach of praising Midnight Mass and saying that it's the best limited series of the year in their book. For a subjective art form, that's about as far as anyone can go.
Hamish Linklater
Many, many people said that they were more disappointed to see actor Hamish Linklater left out of the nominations than the show itself.
Independent Praise
Some fans kept things positive by logging on just to praise Midnight Mass outside the context of the Emmys. Many did this with multiple shows that were left off of the lists on Tuesday.
Non-Fans
For what it's worth, some fans shared their gripes with Midnight Mass to show that it wasn't universally beloved – even by fans of Flanagan.
Genre
Many fans felt like this year's snubs showed a theme of ignoring genre fiction like horror, sci-fi and fantasy. They felt like this was regressive for the academy.
Competition
Fans were shocked to see the shows that were nominated in place of their favorites. Many also pointed out which ones they hadn't seen, implying that they were less impactful.
Award Shows
Finally, many people took this chance to rail against award shows in general. They argued that these intra-industry awards should not be given as much credit as they get for judging the impact of a work of art.
