Jim Carrey Shocks Fans With Easter-Themed Selfie

Jim Carrey shocked his fans on social media this past weekend with a rare selfie. The 55-year-old actor took to Twitter on Sunday to send holiday greetings to his followers, and his fans were shocked to see what Carrey looks like now.

Carrey captioned the photo: “Happy Easter or Passover or whatever reason you can find to feel warm and fuzzy.”

The selfie shows the Dumb and Dumber star holding a small bunny and a carrot. Most noticeably, Carrey was sporting a bushy gray beard that nearly made him unrecognizable.

Almost immediately after posting the photo, Twitter absolutely erupted. Jim Carrey’s adoring fans simply could not believe how different he looks now and thousands shared their response to the photo.

“I had to look at this picture for five minutes before my brain understood that this was Jim Carrey,” one fan wrote.

The past couple years have been quite tumultuous for The Mask star Jim Carrey. Back in September of 2015, his ex-girlfriend Cathriona White committed suicide.

At the time of her death, White and Carrey were no longer a couple. However, Carrey attended her funeral service in her hometown of Cappawhite in County Tipperary, Ireland, according to Daily Mail.

In October of 2016, White’s family filed a lawsuit for wrongful death against Carrey. White’s ex-husband Mark Burton and her mother Brigid Sweetman accused Carrey of giving Cathriona the prescription drugs that she used to kill herself.

In the court documents, Cathriona’s mother blamed Carrey for giving her sexually transmitted diseases. 

Carrey has requested that the judge presiding over the case strike any mention of him having STD’s claiming that it is “irrelevant.”

According to Jim Carrey, he and Cathriona were a loving couple and he was “absolutely devastated” by her death. White’s mother felt differently claiming that the standup comic gave her daughter three STD’s during their relationship, and then tried to blame it on someone else.

Marty Singer, Jim Carrey’s lawyer, has called the entire lawsuit a “sham,” and claimed that Cathriona and her mother had a damaged relationship.
