Documentary About 'Friday the 13th' Icon Kane Hodder Gets Trailer

Virtually every movie fan can recognize Jason Voorhees' iconic hockey mask from the Friday the 13th films, but only the most devout horror fans can tell you the actors underneath that mask. The masked Jason Voorhees has appeared in 12 different films, with stuntman Kane Hodder donning the mask for installments 7-10, making him the actor with the most Voorhees appearances. The stuntman has had a remarkable career, having starred in dozens upon dozens of movies, earning himself the documentary To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story, whose trailer you can watch above.
The film's synopsis is as follows:
"To Hell and Back is a harrowing story of a stuntman overcoming a dehumanizing childhood filled with torment and bullying in Sparks, Nevada. After surviving a near-death burn accident, he worked his way up through Hollywood, leading to his ultimate rise as Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th series and making countless moviegoers forever terrified of hockey masks and summer camp. After decades of watching Kane Hodder on screen, get ready to meet the man behind the mask in To Hell and Back – a uniquely human story about one of cinema's most vicious monsters."
As you can see in the trailer above, Hodder boasts that he's "murdered more people on film than any actor in history." Although this might be a difficult statistic to officially confirm, considering he's starred in films like the Hatchet trilogy, Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, and the aforementioned Friday the 13th films, he'd give anyone else a run for their money.
The documentary includes interviews with Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead), Bill Moseley (House of 1000 Corpses), Cassandra Peterson (Elvira), Sid Haig (The Devil's Rejects), and Danielle Harris (Rob Zombie's Halloween).
In addition to all of the stunts he has completed for a variety of films, the documentary will also explore the horrifying accident Hodder suffered as a young stunt performer in which a fire stunt went wrong and resulted in half his body being covered in burns.
Despite these setbacks, the performer persevered and continued to take on any stunt a director threw at him, even if it meant flame stunts that had earned him his many scars.
To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story debuts later this month at FrightFest.
