Even More Photos From New Stephen King 'It' Movie Released

Just in case you weren't already completely terrified of Pennywise the clown, all new images of the sinister character from the IT movie have been released. Check out the haunting new pics here.
The new shot of Pennywise shows the creature lurking in an abandoned field while flashing an evil smile possibly at one of its next victims. The character was originally portrayed by Tim Curry on the 1990 TV miniseries, but Hemlock Grove's Bill Skarsgard is donning the white face and blood-red grin in the upcoming film.
Another new image shows the young members of the Losers Club, a group of misfits who take it upon themselves to determine the cause of the mysterious deaths and disappearances that plague their hometown. The group can be seen wielding flashlights while preparing to face their fears in what appears to be a junkyard of sorts.
The IT remake is being helmed by director Andy Muschietti, who has opened up about the challenges of depicting a character like Pennywise.
"He is present. It's not like one of those movies where you can hide the monster," Muschietti said. "He's front and center, he does his show, and he has an act. He is a clown."
Even though Pennywise takes on the form of a clown in the movie, the creature is actually a nameless, faceless shape-shifting evil that lurks in the sewers of Derry, Maine. According to Skarsgard, the character finds pleasure in terrorizing the town's inhabitants.
"It truly enjoys the shape of the clown Pennywise, and enjoys the game and the hunt," Skarsgard said. "What's funny to this evil entity might not be funny to everyone else. But he thinks it's funny."
Muschietti says there is one specific key to bringing the iconic villain to life.
"Keep it weird," Muschietti said. "It's weird all the time. Pennywise does things that make absolutely no sense, but they're very disturbing because of the weirdness."
The Loser Club poses the biggest threat to Pennywise as they are the only ones that can see it. The group comprises one of the only black kids in town, one of the only Jewish kids, a girl who is abused by her father, a hypochondriac, a heavyset child and a boy that suffers from a stutter.
"I have to live with my own fear, and I don't really talk to people, so I don't have to get hurt by them," said Sophia Lillis, who portrays the only girl in the group.
Chosen Jacobs, who plays Mike Hanlon, one of the only African-Americans in Derry, said, "He grew up the outsider because of racial tension, which separated him. And that makes him really appreciate when someone says, 'Hey, I like you for who you are.'"
It lands in theaters on September 8.
