Everyone's friend 'til the end, Chucky, returns for even more carnage this October with the newest sequel in the Child's Play franchise, Cult of Chucky. To build anticipation for the project, an all-new red-band trailer was released featuring the murderous doll at his very best, which many would consider his very worst. Check out the red-band trailer above!

The film's synopsis is as follows:

"Cult of Chucky will catch up with Nica (Fiona Dourif) at an asylum for the criminally insane where she has been confined for the past four years and is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when Nica's psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic 'tool' to facilitate his patients' group sessions — an all-too-familiar 'Good Guy' doll with an innocently smiling face — a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn't crazy after all. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky's now-grown-up nemesis from the original Child's Play, races to Nica's aid. But to save her he'll have to get past Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), Chucky's long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll."

The film is written and directed by Don Mancini, who has written every single installment in the franchise, allowing the sequels to stay true to the creator's original vision for the mythology.

With the fourth film in the franchise, the series pivoted to put the focus more on Chucky himself than the children he tormented and stalked. Luckily, Bride of Chucky reinvigorated the franchise, bringing Jennifer Tilly into the mix as the terrifying "Tiffany," who has also appeared in all subsequent sequels.

Although recent installments haven't been granted a theatrical release, the series remains incredibly popular, as it's both a parody of typical slasher films while also being competent installments into the genre.

Much like Mancini, Brad Dourif has been an integral part of the franchise, voicing the killer doll for all seven installments.

Cult of Chucky will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Copy October 3.
