Taylor Swift Expected to Testify at Sexual Assault Case Hearing

Taylor Swift is expected to testify in a sexual assault civil trial in Colorado later this week. Lawyers for Swift and the former disc jockey she accuses of groping her begin picking jurors on Monday.
The case stems from a backstage photo session at a concert in 2013. Radio host David Mueller, then a host at a country music station, was working Swift's concert at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Mueller and his girlfriend met Swift backstage and posed for a photo. Swift's bodyguard later confronted Mueller, alleging that he had reached under the singer's dressed and groped her, WABC reports.
Mueller denied the allegation and asked for the police to be called. Swift's team called Mueller's boss instead and Mueller was later fired. Mueller sued Swift, claiming that he was falsely accused and is seeking up to $3 million in damages.
Swift countersued, claiming sexual assault and is seeking $1 and that Mueller be held responsible. The lawsuit says that Swift is "serving as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts."
In addition to Swift, Mueller, Mueller's former boss, and members of Swift's entourage are expected to testify.
Opening statements in the civil trial could begin as early as Tuesday. It is unlikely that either side will settle.
