Underwood is also a super hands-on mom, and occasionally shares adorable moments with her son on her social media channels. Speaking to People, the star explained that she's taking some time off from music to focus on "being a mom and being a wife and going to see some hockey games to see my husband play." Underwood has been married to Nashville Predators star Mike Fisher since 2010.
Underwood added that she doesn't want to rush her creative process.
"We just wrapped up the Storyteller Tour and I feel like my life right now, creatively, is kind of a blank space," she explained. "I'm really excited about that, because you don't know where you're going to go."
"I'm nervous because I want whatever I do next to be amazing," she continued. I'm kind of waiting for lightning to strike and go: 'Okay, it's time to get creative and work on new music!'"
While fans were sad to hear the news, it's easy to understand where Underwood is coming from.
