'Grey's' Star Patrick Dempsey Confirms His Relationship With Wife Jillian Is on the Mend

More than a year after his wife Jillian filed for divorce, it appears as though Patrick Dempsey is reconciling things with her to salvage their relationship. Jillian initially filed for divorce in January 2015, but Dempsey told ES Magazine, "Yeah, I think so," when asked if he and his wife were back together, ET reports.

Legal documents obtained by ET Wednesday, however, say that the divorce proceedings are still pending. But, Judge Maren Nelson stated that if Dempsey's wife doesn't move forward with the filing, the case may be dropped.

Despite news of the pair apparently working through things, Dempsey admits the process isn't all butterflies and rainbows. "You have to work at everything. And you cannot do everything," he added. "Something has to be sacrificed."

It appears as though Dempsey is taking that responsibility seriously, having taken time off of racing to be more actively involved with his family as of late.

"I've sort of stepped back. I'm the team owner, but time goes by so quickly with my kids that I don't want to miss that," he explained. "Last year we had a good team, and a good car, it was the right moment, where I could focus 100 percent on doing a full season. Now it's time to put that personal philosophy into my kids, allowing them to find their goals, their passions."

He also noted that he takes his kids into account when looking at acting opportunities and wants to make sure his choices there set a good example for his family as well.
