'Dancing with The Stars' Pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy Opens Up About Wife's Pregnancy

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd could not be more excited for the arrival of their baby, but the couple is enjoying the pregnancy as well.

"I think she's going to be an amazing mom," the father-to-be said of his fiancé. "We're going to look back on this process and say we had one of the easiest pregnancies."

The dancer has been very engaged in his partner's pregnancy.

"I try to just keep her happy," he told Us Weekly. "It's important that for me, everything makes sense from a biological standpoint. I have a bit of a chemist in me and I understand the body. We understand because of the lifestyle, the diet and nutrition and the exercise, so I understand the body, and I also understand how hormones jump around … To have the dream pregnancy, you have to keep the environment happy."

The couple is expecting a baby boy in January. They have been documenting the journey to parenthood on social media. Murgatroyd recently shared a video of the baby kicking.

Chmerkovskiy is equally excited about his baby-to-be.

"I'm ready! But I've been ready [to be a dad] since I was like 21," the 36-year-old said. "But now I know that I'm ready, I'm like, 'Thank God it didn't happen before.'"
