Does 'Westworld' Website Hint at a Major Character Return in Season 2?

Even though Westworld has finally entered production on Season 2, it doesn't make the long wait for new episodes any easier.

What does help though, is watching as the show's viral website uses creepy messages to drop hints about the story that's to come. The more you think about these small teases, the more it seems like fan-favorite character Elsie could be coming back into the fray.

Westworld Adds Fargo Villain to Season 2 Cast

If you head to DiscoverWestworld.com, a viral message with pop up on your screen before it allows you to explore the site. An 'unknown user' starts typing messages onto the screen. Chills will go up your spine as "Is anybody out there?" and "Something's gone wrong" appear before your eyes.

During the final message, the user it cut off. The cry for help is met with a glitch of the screen and a note that a program called 'Journey Into Night' - the name of Ford's latest narrative and the Season 2 premiere episode- is being loaded.

Soon after, a "registered user" begins communicating instead. These new messages say that "All is well" and that the "Celebrations continue."

Someone inside Westworld seems to be attempting to call the outside world for help, but they're being overridden by either a host or the system itself.

If you recall, we never found out what happened to Stubbs or Elsie after they got captured inside the park. It was insinuated that Elsie was killed by Bernard but his relationship with her lead many to believe that he had somehow spared her life.

When she was taken, Elsie was investigating a communications system within Westworld. This message for help seems to align with the fact that she learned how to relay messages using the park's technology, and that she's still trying to find her way back to the real world.

While this theory makes a lot of sense, it's also entirely possible that this new system glitch is just a way to tease creepy and dangerous events that are to come in Season 2.

Either way, it seems as though fans are in for a wild ride in when Westworld returns in 2018.
