The Standups (Season 1) / July 4th
Netflix has been killing it with stand-up specials in the last year or so.
From their very first one, Bill Burr's You People Are All the Same way back in 2012, to the recently released special from Sarah Silverman, A Speck of Dust, Netflix has given comedians of all levels of popularity the opportunity to unleash their creativity without the same restrictions as cable TV networks.
This new series, The Standups, will shine a light on some lesser know acts that are up-and-coming, such as Nate Bargatze, Deon Cole, Fortune Feimster, Nikki Glaser, Dan Soder and Beth Stelling.
OZARK (Season 1) / July 21st
Quite possibly the most anticipated new Netflix original for July is OZARK, which stars Arrested Development's Jason Bateman.
It's said to be about a "man who relocates to hopefully wipe the slate clean from his dealings in the drug world and you can probably guess how that's gone."
If you're a fan of Bloodline or Breaking Bad, you may want to plan on checking this one out.
Chasing Coral (Documentary) / July 14th
Documentaries are another area where Netflix has put a major emphasis on high quality.
Next month they'll but putting up a new one that they picked up after it premiered at the Sundance film festival. It's titled Chasing Coral and it is a global warming documentary that solely focuses on the impact to coral reefs.
The film was directed by Jeff Orlowski, who seems to possibly be building a series, as he produced a separate Chasing movie back in 2012 called Chasing Ice.
Friends from College (Season 1) / July 14th
If you prefer Netflix's comedy's then July brings the brand new series Friends from College.
The show is described as follows: "After all going to Harvard together, six friends reunite in their mid-forties to try and get over their midlife crisis. It'll explore their friendships which at times are often complicated."
All eight episodes, starring Keegan-Michael Key, Cobie Smulders, Annie Parisse and many other talented stars, will drop on July 14th.
To the Bone (2017) / July 14th
Another project that Netflix picked up at the Sundance Film Festival, To the Bone stars A-lister Keanu Reeves.
The film is described as following "a young girl's journey as she battles anorexia." It was written and directed by Marti Noxon, and is loosely based on her own struggles with the eating disorder.
Co-starring alongside Reeves is Lily Collins, Carrie Preston, Lili Taylor, Alex Sharp and Brooke Smith.
Castlevania (Season 1) / July 7th
Netflix's is expanding their anime options with a big budget adaptation of the legendary video game Castlevania.
The widely recognizable gaming franchise has been around for many decades but up until this exclusive deal with Netflix, it has never been developed into a television series.
Many fans have wondered where in the chronology of the franchise the story will take place, but while there's no official answer currently, it's speculated that it takes place during Castlevania 3.
Ari Shaffir: Double Negative (2 Specials) / July 18th
The last project we have to tell you about is certainly not the least.
Ari Shaffir made the biggest splash in the comedy world with his Comedy Central series This Is Not Happening, and he is easily one of the funniest comedians working today that you need to know about.
That may sound like an exaggeration, but it's proven by the fact that Netflix is giving him not one but TWO simultaneously streaming specials in Double Negative. The first will focus on the topic of children, and the second focuses on Adulthood.
If you're a fan of the stand-up originals that Netflix has put out so far, make sure to add this to your queue.
