FX President Is Confident About 'Mayans MC'

Mayans MC may have endured a speed bump on the road to a series pick-up, but the show is still in a good place.

Following its pilot shoot, the first Sons of Anarchy spin-off series went into a period of extended reshoots, and it was revealed that some major roles would be recast. Fans soon began to worry about the future of the series.

Fortunately, FX CEO John Landgraf is still incredibly optimistic about the Latino biker-drama.

"I'm really excited about where we are in the process on Mayans," Landgraf said at FX's TCA presentation. "I'm very confident about the future of the spin-off."

This optimistic tone from Landgraf came after the network had presented a new streaming service, FX+. Footage of many different FX shows came up during the video, including bits from the Mayans MC pilot.

Landgraf referred to this inclusion as a "good sign."

Last month, Sons of Anarchy and Mayans MC creator Kurt Sutter talked with PopCulture.com about the reshoots, letting us know that the show is still on track.

"So, now they're just literally waiting for the script. We had the team all together," Sutter said. "I'm not going to direct it because if it gets picked up, we'll slam right into production. So, my other [executive producer] Noberto [Barba] is going do the reshoots, so hopefully that'll all happen in August/September and we'll go into production the first of the year."
