Law & Order: SVU will see a new face this fall when Brooke Shields joins the popular procedural in a recurring role, The Hollywood Reporter shares.
"I play a very different character from any I have ever played," Shields said in a statement. "I'm excited to stir the SVU pot a bit."
The details of Shields' role are being kept under wraps, although it has been revealed that her character will shake up Benson's (Mariska Hargitay) world.
Shields has previously appeared on NBC in the series Suddenly Susan and Lipstick Jungle. SVU has previously hosted high-profile guest stars like the late Robin Williams, Sharon Stone, Alec Baldwin, Whoopi Goldberg and Carol Burnett.
The show will also see a new showrunner with Chicago Justice's Michael Chernuchin.
Law & Order: SVU returns for its nineteenth season on Sept. 27.
