Sarah Paulson Reveals Who She Wants to Join 'American Horror Story'

American Horror Story vet Sarah Paulson is dishing on what other Hollywood star she would like to see join the beloved FX series. During an appearance at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Wednesday, the 42-year-old actress revealed that she wants to share the screen with Emma Thompson.

"I want Emma Thompson up in this piece," Paulson said, according to a reporter from the LA Times, Yvonne Villareal.

While Thompson, who recently starred in Beauty and the Beast, may not be attached to the upcoming seventh season of AHS, there is a bevy of newcomers already confirmed.

One new actress that will be featured in AHS: Cult is Alison Pill. During the TCA conference, Paulson unveiled one surprising detail about her and Pill's characters on the next season.

"There are two women married to each other in that house, but who are they?" Paulson said in reference to a set that the reporters had just visited. "It's me and Alison."

Paulson will be taking on the role of Ally Mayfair-Richards, while Pill will play Ivy Mayfair-Richards on Cult. In the recently released character posters, Pill was seen brandishing a knife in what appears to be a butchery.

Pill says that she is thrilled for the opportunity to act alongside Paulson, who won a Golden Globe earlier this year for her portrayal of Marcia Clark in American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.

"We've known each other for a long time and have never had a chance to work together, so it really is the most exciting to have all of these scenes with the person who I couldn't respect more and who is so good at acting," Pill said.

In regards to what the two actresses will be facing in this season, executive producer Ryan Murphy teased that the storyline will actually involve President Donald Trump.

"I would say honestly that when Ryan had made the announcement originally that the season would deal with Trump, it's more about what's going on in the world around us," executive producer Alexis Martin Woodall said at TCA, according to EW. "We talk about the streak of paranoia, and a lot of it launches from that. It's not what you think it is. As with all good horror and suspense, knowing less is so much more. But it's an element in our launch point."

AHS: Cult premieres Sept. 5 on FX at 10 p.m. ET.
