Extended 'It' Sneak Peek Debuting in Theaters With 'Annabelle: Creation'

If you can't wait until September to get more Pennywise, hitting the theater to see Annabelle: Creation will reportedly offer you the chance to get a four-minute sneak peek at the latest adaptation of It.

Trailer Track reports that "Consumer Protection BC have rated a 4-minute, 12-second extended footage reel for the film, no doubt to be attached to David F. Sandberg's acclaimed Annabelle prequel."

The site also claims that this footage most likely won't appear online, possibly because it will be a combination of trailers or TV spots previously released.

It's also possible, however, that the footage shown in the sneak peek could be what was shown at San Diego Comic-Con last month, which were two separate sequences that concluded with a montage of footage, which was never released online. Considering New Line Cinema never released the footage they screened at SDCC, this could be an opportunity to show fans what they missed.

With Annabelle: Creation being the latest in a series of sequels and spin-offs from the original The Conjuring, it would make sense that the audiences for that film and It would overlap, ensuring that the sneak peek would be enjoyed by the widest audiences.

Earlier this week, David F. Sandberg, director of Creation, revealed on Twitter that fans should stick around throughout the credits to get the full experience of the story.

Interestingly, the director made sure to point out that the sequences in question weren't his idea, but potentially came from the studio's directives.

The original Annabelle was the first spin-off from The Conjuring, marking one of the first forays into a shared universe of horror films. We've previously seen things like Freddy vs. Jason or the Alien vs. Predator films, in which two major properties collide to do battle, but the direction of these spin-offs and sequels from The Conjuring hasn't really been done before.

In addition to the Annabelle films, it has been announced that The Conjuring 2 is getting spin-off films in the form of The Nun and The Crooked Man. Whether the mid and post credits scenes in Annabelle will tease future spin-offs or just provide more information of Annabelle's complete journey is yet to be determined.

As if the positive reviews of the upcoming horror film didn't provide you with enough reasons to check it out, you'll also get a chance to enhance your excitement for It.

Annabelle: Creation hits theaters August 11 and It opens on September 8.
