Now You Can Live in a Replica of the Myers House from 'Halloween'

In John Carpenter's horror masterpiece Halloween, the opening sequence shows a young Michael Myers grabbing a knife, approaching his sister's room, and murdering her. The sequence ends with a shot of the young boy in his Halloween costume standing in front of his home as authorities move in to investigate the crime. For those die-hard Halloween fans who had always hoped to live in a replica of this iconic horror house, you're in luck, as you can now do so, if you're willing to move to Hillsborough, NC.

Kenny Caperton and his wife live in "The Myers House NC," which he created to honor one of his favorite films. Caperton recently took to Facebook to announce that he's looking for a housemate for the horrifying location, which reads:

"Want to live in The Myers House NC?! Well you might be in luck – I'm looking for a housemate! Available Now. Male or female inquiries welcome. Unfurnished bedroom with walk in closet and connecting bathroom. House is located in rural Hillsborough, North Carolina (10 minutes from downtown Hillsborough, 20 minutes from Chapel Hill, 25 minutes from Burlington, 30 minutes from downtown Durham and 50 minutes from downtown Raleigh). DM me for more info. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE."

The movie was filmed in Pasadena, a small suburb of Los Angeles, which was meant to pass for the fictional central Illinois town of Haddonfield. An interesting snag in filming in this location was that dead leaves had to be shipped from other locations to create the appearance of fall, even though multiple scenes in the movie have visible palm trees in the background.

Although the Pasadena neighborhood itself still somewhat resembles what we saw in the film, the actual Myers house is no longer located in its original location. The house was deemed a historic landmark and was moved to the end of the street on which it used to be located, and is now home to a chiropractor's office.

More than just mirroring the iconic appearance of the house, the landmark in North Carolina also attempted to recreated interior portions of the house as well. However, with the original house dating back to the 1880s, Caperton made a few upgrades. His website describes:

"As far as the interior décor, there was no way Kenny was going to replicate the rundown and outdated 70s look with the run-down flooring, appliances, and furniture made famous in the movie! Since the house is not just a replica project and is actually a primary place of residence, the house has modern appliances and is decorated in more of a rustic farmhouse/Victorian inspired look …and of course has tons of vintage Halloween decorations and Horror memorabilia throughout."
