The upcoming sixth sequel to Child's Play, Cult of Chucky, promises to be the most brutal installment in the franchise yet, bringing together almost every important character from the franchise to depict how the killer doll has impacted their lives. Audiences knew that Jennifer Tilly would appear in the movie, but didn't know if her pint-sized counterpart would appear, with the film recently debuting the first look at her alter-ego, Tiffany.

The film's synopsis read:

"Cult of Chucky will catch up with Nica (Fiona Dourif) at an asylum for the criminally insane where she has been confined for the past four years and is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when Nica's psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic 'tool' to facilitate his patients' group sessions — an all-too-familiar 'Good Guy' doll with an innocently smiling face — a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn't crazy after all. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky's now-grown-up nemesis from the original Child's Play, races to Nica's aid. But to save her he'll have to get past Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), Chucky's long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll."

The film is written and directed by Don Mancini, who has written every single installment in the franchise, allowing the sequels to stay true to the creator's original vision for the mythology.

Although recent installments haven't been granted a theatrical release, the series remains incredibly popular, as it's both a parody of typical slasher films while also being competent installments of the genre.

Much like Mancini, Brad Dourif has been an integral part of the franchise, voicing the killer doll for all seven installments.

Tilly first debuted in the franchise in the fourth film, Bride of Chucky, in which she played a woman obsessed with the killer who aimed to transfer her spirit into that of a female doll, Tiffany, to live in matrimony with Chucky.

Dropping the "Child's Play" title and no longer requiring the film to have a direct connection to a young boy who has come into possession of the doll, Chucky and Tiffany's further adventures were explored in Seed of Chucky and Curse of Chucky.

Cult of Chucky lands on unrated Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital platforms on October 3.
