Luke Bryan Reveals Details on New Music He's Working On

After releasing his fifth studio album nearly two summers ago, country singer, Luke Bryan is getting ready for a new record, telling The Boot exclusively that he's "probably about halfway through" so far.

"I really have not ever taken a breath since I rolled into this town," he said. "So I'm kind of taking a little breath and enjoying that. And then you start having anxiety about not having music out."

Bryan goes on to dish that he's been in the studio a lot lately and is "really, really proud of the stuff" he's putting together so far.

"And that's the thing: I love going in — the energy in the studio, trying to outdo myself again," he said.

Bryan certainly does love outdoing himself. In addition to a number one, platinum record with Kill the Lights, the 40-year-old Georgia native has enjoyed chart-topping success with six singles off that album, including "Kick the Dust Up" and "Home Alone Tonight" with Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild.

Of all the success Bryan's met with the last album, he says he's amazed and humbled that radio and fans are still listening, saying the "cards fell" in the right place.

"At any given moment, another artist has the highest song of the year, and you're number two and they stay number one," Bryan admits. "I'm just so blessed; I've heard it said, having number one songs is a series of a lot of miracles that happened, whether you're the writer or whether you're the artists. I guess six in a row, that's a lot of miracles, so I'm good in the miracle category."

Earlier this summer, Bryan broke records when his recent single, "Fast" hit number one, making him the only artist in 27 years of Billboard's Country Airplay to have all six singles from one album reach that high. While he is grateful, don't count him out just yet because Bryan is still hungry for more.

"I still want some miracles," he reveals. "You don't sit down and it just starts happening. You start getting this energy, and then the next thing you know, people around the record label are like, 'You realize you might break a record.' I'm like, 'Don't tell me stuff like that. Let's just put out songs.' But it's been fun. It's been amazing."

Bryan has received much acclaim over the years for his music and has gone on to collaborate with others outside the genre, like Jason Derulo, garnering him much accolades. But when it comes to the support he really loves, the country crooner might look to his family a lot, but it is his parents the mean the most.

"[When] my dad calls me, and he's like, 'You done broke a record up there, son,'" Bryan said. "That makes you proud, when your dad hears it on the news."
