Britney Spears is lucky to be unharmed after a terrifying moment during her latest concert on Wednesday night at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas when she was rushed by a crazed fan on stage.

The 35-year-old singer was in the middle of performing her last song, "(You Drive Me) Crazy," when a man jumped on stage. Fortunately, Spears' security team and her male backup dancers swiftly dealt with the fan.

A source close to the Grammy-winning songstress said that she was terrified during the incident, according to Daily Mail. Initially, she was unaware of what was happening. Some of her security surrounded her as others detained the man.

Spears could be heard asking her team, "Is everything okay? What's going on."

She then asks one of the security members, "He's got a gun?"

One fan wrote on Instagram describing the events: "A crazy fan jumped in on the stage while Britney was performing her hit song 'crazy' she was a little terrified and asked if he had a gun?"

After the intruder was tackled to the ground, he was carried off stage. Even though he was being escorted away, the man still appeared to knee one of the guards on the way out.

Since 2013, Spears has been doing her "Piece of Me" Vegas residency show in a contract with Caesar's Entertainment. Because of the huge success of her stay in Sin City, Spears extended her contract in 2015 with Planet Hollywood to run until 2017, Ace Showbiz reports.

Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph, previously dished on the possibility of his client returning to do more Vegas shows in the future after her current contract is fulfilled.

"Anything is possible. We have made zero decisions. We expect a lot of interests from all parties. Britney basically sells out every show, and she loves Las Vegas, she loves performing in Vegas, and Vegas is a possibility going forward."
