After an initial delay, Abby Lee Miller has started her prison sentence for bankruptcy fraud.

The former Dance Moms star arrived a federal penitentiary in Victorville, California, to start her year-and-a-day sentence on Wednesday. She entered the facility at 12:05 p.m., two hours before her deadline, according to ET.

She rolled up to the facility in a blacked-out suburban with Lifetime cameras in tow. The footage will not air as a part of Dance Moms, but it will air on a Lifetime special about Miller and her sentence.

In an interview days before her surrender, Miller stressed that the cameras weren't her idea. She is under a contract with the network that allows them to film the moment.

"It wasn't important to me, it was important to them," she said. "I signed a four-year contract."

After her initial sentencing, Miller went on the record to share her thoughts on going to prison. She was surprisingly optimistic about the sentence, a trend that continued during a public appearances leading up to the surrender.

"There's a few physical limitations, dietary limitations [in prison], of course, but it'll be OK," she said. "It's a realm of the world I know nothing about. I just know what I know and I do the best I can. I know that I didn't make the right decisions all the time. I think [the punishment's] just begun."

She mentioned to ET over the weekend that she may even try to flex her dance muscles once she's inside, if her body is up to it.

"I don't really know (if I'll dance)," she said. "I have bad knees and a bad back and a lot of stuff. I'm worried about standing on cement for hours at a time, but we'll see."

After she serves her time, Miller will have an additional two years of supervised released. She has also been fined $40,000 and $120,000 for the currency reporting violation charge she received last summer.
