Aaron Carter Had Another Incident With Police Hours Before DUI

Prior to being arrested for DUI this past weekend, Aaron Carter had a previous run-in with the cops that same day. The 29-year-old was involved in an issue with law enforcement after he was unable to pay his bill for a flat tire repair.

On Saturday, the "Sooner or Later" singer stopped at a Walmart Supercenter in Commerce, Georgia. He pulled in to the location after blowing out a tire on his Chevy Suburban, according to TMZ.

After about an hour and a half, Carter returned to pay his bill. However, his credit cards were all declined.

Carter reportedly told the employees that he was going to call his manager to figure out the problem. The employees were concerned that Carter might have a spare key to his vehicle and attempt to leave without paying the bill. Someone on the scene called the cops to make sure that didn't happen.

The law enforcement officers briefly spoke with Carter, but the incident was resolved after a fan noticed the musician and offered to pay the $110 bill. In exchange for an autograph and a photo with the fan, Carter's bill was taken care of and he was on his way without incident.

Around two hours after the flat tire situation, Carter was arrested for DUI refusal. He was about a half-hour away in Cornelia, Georgia when he was arrested.

On Tuesday, Carter gave his recollection of the sequence of events during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"Somebody said I was driving recklessly on the road, that's what the police report said, but the alignment was off on my car, so I went to AutoZone to see if I could do anything about it," Carter said. "A motorcyclist reported that I was swerving all over the road, but the alignment was off a little bit on the new tire."

At the AutoZone, Carter says the cops then approached him.

"[They] forcefully grabbed me out," he said. "[I] stepped outside. I say, 'I invoke the right to speak to my attorney,' and they disregarded that, they revoked that immediately. They said, 'Is there anything illegal in the car?' I said, 'I have marijuana in the car.' "

"I kept trying to explain the whole situation, to the officer," he said. "He said, 'You're a professional, right? I'm a professional too, so be quiet.' And then I said, 'OK.' "

According to Carter, he wasn't driving under the influence because he doesn't even drink.

"I do not drink alcohol at all," he said. "I'll occasionally have a sip of a beer or something like that, but I can't even drink IPAs. I can't drink anything like that. I have to drink the lightest beer possible that's not hoppy. I don't drink any hard liquor."
