Jamie Lynn Spears Shares Picture of Daughter Heading to Third Grade

Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter 8-year-old Maddie is heading off to 3rd grade and it looks like she's got her mom's poise and smile.

The proud mom captioned the photo of her daughter standing on the steps in front of her school, "3rd grade🍎👧🏼📚."

While Spears has spent the past several years out of the spotlight for the most part she has kept fans updated as her daughter grew from a toddler into a strong young lady.

She has now returned to the public eye as she makes a name for herself in the country music world. In a recent interview, the performer and mother opened up about taking control of her story and her image as she re-entered the world of fame because she wants to be someone she and her daughter can be proud of.

"I wanna do something that I'm gonna be proud of," Spears said. "I'm not just a child star. I'm not just someone's sister. And I'm not just a teen mom."
