WATCH: Teresa Giudice Gets Emotional Talking Husband Joe Giudice's Prison Sentence

Teresa Giudice is speaking out about how it feels to have her husband in prison.

After serving an 11-month sentence last year, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star came home to her family only for her husband, Joe Giudice, to leave in March to begin his own 41-month stint after pleading guilty to conspiracy and bankruptcy fraud charges.

Now, Giudice is doing her best to stay strong for the couple's four daughters, Gia, 15, Gabriella, 11, Milania, 10 and Audriana, 6, revealing in a pre-taped interview that aired on Good Morning America Tuesday that it's not so easy.

"It's hard. We e-mail every day," she said. "We talk every day, and I see him every week."

She became emotional when asked if she had given her husband any advice before he left, saying, "Well, he lived through the whole thing. I'm just...I'm getting emotional," before leaving the couch to compose herself.

The reality star also spoke about her daughters and how they're coping with the situation.

"You know, [they] miss their dad, of course, tremendously, just like I do. But you know they're doing as well as could be expected," she revealed. "They're amazing. They're really strong young girls."

Giudice, who just released her new book, Turning the Tables, was also asked about the "uncertain" future her family faces, as Joe is not a U.S. citizen and may face deportation to his native Italy upon his release from prison. Giudice, however, is only thinking positive thoughts.

"No, I think our future is not uncertain," she said. "He's gonna be home, we're gonna be together, and that's what I'm looking forward to."

Giudice's homecoming and her husband's departure will be featured on the upcoming season of Bravo's Real Housewives of New Jersey, and fans will be able to see a new side of Giudice, who sister-in-law Melissa Gorga says is "calmer."

"You do grow, and you learn from your experiences," Giudice explained, "and that's obviously what happened to me."
