Miranda Lambert has had a rollercoaster ride of a year and in the midst of another high she is taking a moment to reflect on the how the year has shaped her.
Her new single "Vice" went right to the top of the iTunes chart after dropping earlier this week. She took a screenshot of it sitting up there in the top spot and posted it to Instagram with a note of reflection and gratitude.
"The last year of my life has been one of heartache and healing," she wrote, "... Of learning to be honest .... Accepting the flaws and celebrating the smiles. Finding peace in dark places ... having some moments alone with me. Facing fears and feelings... All of them."
Her divorce from Blake Shelton wasn't easy but she has since begun dating Anderson East and the pair couldn't be happier.
Lambert said the past year has also reconnected her to her music.
"I got to know my guitars...became friends with a pencil and paper ... Used melodies to lead me places I had never been.... Made music with my friends. Because music is medicine," she said.
She also took a moment to thank her fans for their support through the personal ups and downs she faced this year.
"This means the world to me," she said of her song hitting number one. "Thank you for joining me on this journey. #vice #musicismedicine."
