When a Roseanne revival was announced, fans were ecstatic to see the Conner family back in their living rooms. However, one big question many fans have is how will the revival address the death of Dan (John Goodman) in the series finale.

After months of speculation and assumptions from the cast, we now have a confirmation of Dan's fate leading into the revival season.

ABC President Channing Dungey spoke to media at 2017 TCA Summer Press Tour and revealed that Dan will indeed be alive and a part of the new episodes, according to E!.

"I'm not going to talk too specifically about the season," Dungey said. "I wouldn't say that it's ignoring the events of the finale, but I can say that Dan is definitely alive."

This comes as a sigh of relief to any of the sitcom's fans who thought Goodman would be reduced to cameos in dreams or flashbacks. It seems that the writers have found a way to work around the tear-jerking series finale and give us a full blown look at the Conner family's modern escapades.

Goodman alluded to the family carrying on like nothing happening during an interview earlier this year.

"I don't know, I think they're just going to ignore (Dan's death)." he said. "There might be a funny reference to it."

He even gave fans a sneak peek of where they'll be at the start of the revival.

"It's going to be all new turf. We were in our 40s when we left off," the 64-year-old actor said. "I myself have applied for Medicare. We're going to have grandkids. It's just like a new life. I don't know what they're going to do, but I'm excited to try it this way."

The original Roseanne ran from 1988-1997 and went down as one of the greatest sitcoms of all time. All the seasons are currently streaming on Amazon Prime, with the revival season expected to air on ABC in 2018.
